3. Fort William on Lighthouse Hill
It is likely that Hendrik Muller visited Cape Coast after he visited Elmina. Cape Coast is the former British Capital of the Gold Coast, situated circa 15 kilometres east of Elmina. All photo's of Cape Coast show views of the town and were most likely bought by him.
Fort William was originally a small, strategically positioned fort for the defence of Cape Coast Castle. In the later nineteenth century the British government converted it into a lighthouse. The lighthouse is still there, but no longer in operation.
